Primary Dust Collector

Cyclone-Type Primary Dust Collectors

Cyclone-type dust collector

Hot Mix Asphalt Plant aggregate dryer exhaust gases include a large amount of particulate matter which must be removed from the gas stream prior to exhausting to atmosphere. State of the art is the use of a cyclonic type dust collector as a pre-cleaner ahead of a final dust collector. The use of a primary collector reduces the amount of coarser dust particles that would normally enter the final collector. In the case of a fabric filter this is beneficial in that it can reduce the amount of cleaning and thus increase the useful life of the filter elements.

Features of the ETG Design

  1. Welded _1/4" thick shell construction throughout.
  2. Can be configured for left hand or right hand gas entry.
  3. Outlet Cap and Dust Discharge are flange mounted with a Vanstone type arrangement, allowing them to be field rotated as required to align with mating equipment during installation.
  4. The cyclone is furnished with a simple mounting ring assembly which allows the installer to quickly orient the cyclone gas inlet to suit any installation orientation need (no need to pre-determine mounting bracket locations on the cyclone proper).
  5. Wear Liners - Cyclone can be furnished with or without wear liners. Standard wear liner configuration is to furnish liner plates on outside wall of gas inlet stub and continue liners 180 degree around the main body circumference for a height of 8'-4". Hopper is furnished with 360 degree wear liners for a height of 5'-0" above the dust discharge outlet transition. Liners are plug welded to cyclone body. Standard liners are made from _1/4" thick Hardox 400/450 plate or equivalent. Complete interior lining can be quoted upon request.

If a particular installation does not demand the use of a cyclonic primary collector, ETG can offer custom Knock Out Box type primary collectors for pre-cleaning service.
